Jerry Yang

Jerry Yang’s best memories of high school were playing on China’s National Youth Ping Pong and working toward the National Mathematical Olympiad team. Yang earned his B.Eng from China’s Jilin University in 2001. Soon afterward he started his journey in Canadian business. Yang quickly became well acquainted with Ontario’s school system as his first company provided transport services for thousands of students to and from school every year. His experience as business development manager at MIC Group, a publisher of online educational material to North American and Chinese markets, provided valuable insight into the world of online learning.

Yang’s inspiration at Insight Academy of Canada is founded in his own very positive insights into Canada’s education system. At IAC, Yang combines his business background with the expertise of the school’s highly qualified team of teachers and administrators to help every student get the best of Canada’s world-class high school system.

Emilia Martin

My passion for the English language and education was ignited after immigrating to Canada from Eastern Europe.  Upon completion of a combined honors degree in English and history (Hon.B.A.) and a degree in education (B.Ed.) at Western University, I was fortunate enough to practice my craft at St. Michael’s College School, one of Canada’s top private schools. While living in Vancouver, I wrote educational programs for schools in China. The key quality of an excellent educator is being life long learner; as a result, I earned additional qualifications in special education, guidance, International Baccalaureate (DP and PYP), and a post grad certificate in adult education from the University of Toronto (OISE). Twelve years in the classroom has taught me that learning is a cooperative process and I am excited to collaborate with IAC students.
Besides teaching and learning, I enjoy playing and coaching sports such as volleyball, biking, yoga, and sailing. Volunteering with refugees and underprivileged people allows me to stay connected to my community. Learning about other cultures by traveling to over 30 countries has inspired in me a deep respect for diversity.
